Effect of Energy Intake on Percentage Body Fat as Measured by Bia and Cun-Bae Equation Formula: A Comparative Study of Body Fat Measurement Methods

Introduction: Body composition is becoming important to be taken into account, as it not only an integral part of individual nutritional assessment but also a biomarker in acute or chronic diseases. Percentage and distribution body fat clinically most interest play significant role determining cardiovascular risk. Various modern methods have been developed determine percentage for hospital setting, however, low-cost technology health surveillance required. The aim this study was the effect energy intake on whether CUN-BAE equation formula has accuracy comparable BIA, so that can used surveillance. Material Method: This crossed sectional Jember Study. invited 84 female dental students with ideal range Mass Index (21.06±0.17) participate study. Calorie calculated using 24 hour recall method. Assessment performed Bioelectrical Impedance Analyzer (BIA) formula. Result: Total positively associated total students, higher determined by (95% CI 16.69, 16.94) well BIA 14.11, 15.38). method highly correlated -1.07, 0.33). average results FM measurements two measurement are same.
